/ DIY WREATH OF PAPER FLOWERS

Simple and sweet or dramatic and sumptuous? A flower wreath for the hair can be made oversized with lots of volume and with the garden's biggest stars such as peonies and peasant roses in the lead role but can also easily be kept simpler in expression. No matter what style you are in, a flower wreath in your hair gives a beautiful and natural look that goes well with both a wedding, confirmation and one of the summer's many parties.

And although the flower wreath looks impressive and of course takes some time to make, it is not that difficult at all. And who does not want to throw themselves over play with flowers, colors, and the green wonders of the garden?

Here are some tips to get you started on making your own flower wreath for your hair. We have chosen to use flowers from our new paper flower collection as an eye-catcher in the wreath. As a base we use eucalyptus branches, hydrangeas, and a little sprinkle of free imagination.

MATERIALS

Before we get started with the wreath, let's get a handle on the materials. First, you need to decide which base you want to use for the wreath. Maybe you have an old hairband lying around that you want to give new life or maybe you want to make it from scratch on a base of steel wire and flower ribbons - the advantage of this type of base is that you can adjust the wreath to fit to your head.

For this flower wreath, use:

  • Steel wire or flower wire
  • Flower ribbon (it is green and looks like paper tape)
  • Metal wire to tie the flowers with
  • Flowers / Green: Hydrangea, Bridal Veil & amp; eucalyptus
  • Papirblomsterne nude peony and bordeaux daisy

WHICH FLOWERS CAN YOU USE FOR A FLOWER WRENCH FOR YOUR HAIR?

If you want to make a wreath for your hair, it is first and foremost worth considering whether you want to make a wreath with fresh flowers that have a limited lifespan, or if you want to make an everlasting wreath with dried flowers and paper flowers. If it is for a special occasion such as a wedding, it can be great to have a wreath with a long shelf life, which after the party can decorate the decor and bring back memories of the day.

We have chosen to make the flower wreath in a mix of paper flowers and real flowers, which can dry up. Bridal veils and hydrangeas are particularly suitable here.

When choosing flowers, think about both the fullness and size of the flowers. It is a good idea to choose some smaller flowers that can fill the space between your flowers. The smaller flowers can be supplemented with a little green and thus form the base for the wreath.

In general, flowers that do not contain too much water are good for flower wreaths. In addition, it is a good idea to go for flowers with thin stems that bend easily.

FLOWERS USED IN THIS Wreath

Hydrangea:€ Leave your Hydrangea stalks in a vase of water until they are dry. Then they can keep both shape and color for longer. If you use fresh hydrangeas, they will wither in the same way as other flowers.

Bridal veil gives a light and airy look and is good for filling in small spaces between your flowers. Bridal veils can also be dried beforehand but can also stay in the wreath for some time before they start to get brownish leaves.

Lavender: Lavender is with its thin stems super easy to work with, and then the flower does not contain much water, it also dries up nicely in the wreath. If necessary, use it to fill small holes in the wreath.

Nude peony paper flower: The peony is one of the most beautiful in the garden and paper version works with its many leaves and beautiful nude color perfectly as an eye-catcher in the flower wreath. You therefore do not have to be afraid that the main role of the wreath will wither during the party. Buy the flower here.

Bordeaux daisy paper flower: The Bordeaux daisy provides beautiful contrast to the pink colors of the flowers and the dusty green on the eucalyptus branches. Buy the flower here span>.

The eucalyptus branches are easy to wrap around your wreath and act as a

good base that looked up makes it easier to keep the flowers in place.

GUIDE: HOW TO MAKE A FLOWER WRENCH FOR YOUR HAIR

There are many different techniques for making the base of the flower wreath. We have chosen a simple model with steel wire shaped after the head, where we have just twisted the ends together into a circular shape. The closed wreath fits well on the head, and you therefore do not have to be afraid that it will slip off.

The flowers can be placed all the way around a la the beautiful Swedish midsummer wreath, you can make a small mini bouquet that sits in the side or front of the wreath, or you can do as here, where we have made a slightly larger collection of flowers on the side of the wreath. It all depends on how flashy you want the haircut.

STEP 1: LOW FLOWER BASE BASE

  • Measure a piece of steel wire in the same circumference as your head + a little extra so you can just twist the ends together into a circular shape
  • Cover the collection with floral ribbons. If the flower ribbon has difficulty sticking, rub it slightly between your fingers so that it starts to stick.

STEP 2: DECORATE WITH FLOWERS

  • Cut your flowers to about 4-5 cm in length
  • Twist the long eucalyptus stalks around the entire wreath
  • Put on your first paper flower - you can easily string it around your base
  • Then fill with a mix of paper flowers and fresh or dried flowers. It is entirely up to you how much fullness your wreath should have

STEP 3: TRY THE FLOWER WRENCH

  • Now you are ready to try on the wreath. Here you can see if there are small "holes" in the wreath, where you just need to add a little extra fullness
