True to tradition, here you will find our take on this year's Advent wreath. We have skipped easily and elegantly over the otherwise classic advent wreath made of spruce, and have instead thrown ourselves into a wonderful mix of colored moss, dried flowers and paper flowers. There is a guarantee that the Advent wreath will look beautiful throughout December and maybe it can even be taken out again next Christmas.

If you lack inspiration for this year's advent wreath, read along here, where we give you tips to achieve one of Christmas' most traditional decorations.

ADVENT WREATH ON STRAW WREATH

We have tied the Advent wreath for Christmas 2021 on a straw wreath. The straw wreath provides a durable decoration that can easily withstand being moved around a bit, and where the candle holders are firmly fixed. Straw wreaths are available in all sizes, so you can choose how big, showy, small or minimalist it should be.

HOW TO MAKE AN ADVENT WREATH WITH MOSS, DRIED FLOWERS AND PAPER FLOWERS

1. CREATE AN EYEWEAR WITH PAPER FLOWERS

As an eye-catcher in the advent wreath, we have used paper flowers from our PAPERFLOWER collection designed by Kristina Sørensen from Labdecor. The paper flowers are available in many different varieties, and give both fullness and color to the Advent wreath. Pick your favorites here.

Start by twisting your paper flowers around the straw wreath. That way, you can keep the flower's long stem and reuse the flowers in a vase after Christmas. You can possibly Secure the paper flowers with some wire.

2. MAKE A SOFT MOSS BOTTOM IN THE ADVENT WREAL

Moss comes in all sorts of shades and if you don't have the opportunity to find moss in nature, there can also be advantages in using preserved moss, as we have done here. Preserved moss is natural moss that has undergone a conservation process so that it remains soft and easy to work with. There are both the natural light green Icelandic moss and the wild colored versions. Here we have chosen a dark green preserved moss as the base of the wreath.

Place moss on the straw wreath and twist thin steel wire around to attach the moss to the straw wreath.

3. GARNISH WITH DRIED FLOWERS

With a base of colored moss and paper flowers, you are now ready to pamper the last details. Here we have given it full throttle with beautiful preserved hydrangeas and some light grasses that give the advent wreath a feminine and light expression. Hydrangeas in the preserved version are super easy to work with because they are soft and give good volume in your advent wreath. In addition, the fantastically beautiful colors of the flowers are also preserved.

The dried flowers are attached with small pieces of bent steel wire.

4. PUT CANDLES IN YOUR ADVENT WREATH

The range of candles has exploded in recent years, and the classic white candles and block candles have had to take a back seat, while the twisted and patterned candles have taken the lead. Here we have decorated the Advent wreath with our glass candles, which are so beautifully combined with the natural decoration. The glass candles are filled with ordinary lamp oil, and burn beautifully for many hours. Fortunately, there is no danger of them burning down and setting fire to the decoration.
