OIL BUBBLES from Studio About are oil candles that consist of a round, coloured glass bubble that rests on a coloured glass base. The organic bubble of the oil candle rests on a glass base, which gives an elegant and playful expression, and the green coloured glass is beautifully reflected on surfaces and creates life and colour in the home. The oil candles can be used as an eye catcher in the windowsill or on a shelf, or it can be implemented in a cosy and romantic table setting. The oil candle is a decorative alternative to classic wax candles. It can be used over and over again and only needs to be filled with new oil. With the use of the oil candle you avoid candle wax on the table or tablecloths and the oil candle soot less than a normal candle. The oil candles are mouth-blown and made in solid-coloured borosilicate glass, which is a special type of glass that endures high temperatures. Therefore, the glass does not crack under extreme temperature changes like regular glass. Because of the borosilicate glass, the oil candle will also maintain its colour and keep its beautiful appearance over time.
The oil candle can easily be cleaned with warm water and soap.
Oil and wicks are crucial for the burn time of the oil candles and therefore, we have tested several different lamp oils to find the best oil for these particular glass candles. We recommend using the lamp oil from the brand Alaska. This oil is a normal lamp oil, which is free from odour and does not soot. The oil from Alaska is suitable for indoor use.
A full candle can burn consistently for an average of 25 hours depending on the type of oil.
NB It is crucial that you do not split the wick, as the candle will burn increasingly worse. There is always 1 extra wick included in the package.
Place the wick in the little glass tube.
Add oil using the enclosed funnel.
Dab the top of the wick with a drop of oil from the funnel. Let about 3-5 mm of the wick peep out so the flame does not become too powerful and soot.
Extinguish the candle as you usually do by blowing it out or using a candle extinguisher.
