Our take on a summer table setting is a mecca of glass, colors and shapes. When you play with colors and different materials, you literally create a party on the table. The mix of sharp, strong and delicate colors gives a bubbly and exuberant summer feeling, and the mix of glass and ceramics creates a nice contrast between the elegant and the raw. The contrast between the colored glass and the ceramics is expressed in the drinking glasses, cups and plates, which are part of Studio About's new series of Tableware, which will be launched in August and September respectively.
COLORED DRINKING GLASSES IN THE SUN'S RAYS
The drinking glasses are available both as water glasses and wine glasses in a range of beautiful, delicate colours. The elegant design of the glasses helps to make your everyday festive and they are therefore perfect for all occasions. In addition, there is almost nothing more beautiful than stained glass reflected in the sun's rays. We have decorated our table with a mixture of water glasses, wine glasses and ceramic mugs to create life and different dimensions for our summer table. This makes your table inviting and invites your guests to stay hydrated and cool in the summer heat. We have poured homemade elderflower juice with plenty of lemon slices and ice cubes into the glasses. CONTRASTS IN CERAMICS
We've got you covered with our new ceramic series, which comes in a small and large plate, mug and bowl in different colours. Ceramics give a luxurious and delicious look, but also create a raw contrast to the fine, colored glass. Here we have also mixed the colors to create the festive expression and play of colors that we love. You can choose to keep the colors in the same delicate tone with the light blue, gray and yellow ceramics, but we have chosen to mix them with a sharp, red color to break the clean expression. The terracotta colored plate with the strong red glaze gives a retro look and gives your summer table a little extra edge. You can therefore easily combine new and old, elegant and raw - this will simply make your table exciting and personal.
THE TASTE OF SUMMER
A summer table is not complete without delicacies and refreshments to offer its guests; the food plays a big role in how inviting a set table looks, so use it as part of the table setting. It shows energy and commitment when you care for the details and serve something that is both beautiful and tastes good. Our intern Sofie has made small dessert cakes filled with the flavors of summer. The cakes consist of an elderflower mousse with white chocolate, a tart-sweet filling with lemon and raspberries and a shortcrust pastry base with fresh elderflowers in it. The cakes are glazed with a vanilla-dotted elderflower glaze and decorated with individual elderflowers, which give a neat and elegant look. The round shape of the cakes compliments the bubble shape of the glass vases and gives a playful and organic overall look, and their delicate light yellow color contrasts beautifully with the light blue and the strong red color of our ceramic plates respectively. It is always delicious to have bowls full of goodies that both children and adults can go and nibble on during the day. We have filled our beautiful ceramic bowls with sun-ripened, red, Danish strawberries, which only get sweeter in the sun's warming rays. The ceramic bowls are the perfect size for berries, fruit or snacks, and the beautiful colors highlight the edible contents beautifully.
SUMMER FLOWERS IN GLASS VASES
It's not summer without flowers. Flowers help to give color and life to your summer table, and are simply beautiful to look at. By putting together several different glass vases and types of flowers, the table setting becomes exciting and inviting to look at. Go out into nature or your garden and pick one or more bouquets of summer flowers. We have picked branches of the beautiful pipe wood, which is also called false jasmine because of its resemblance to the wonderful, perfumed scent of the real jasmine flower. We have put branches in both one of our Flower Tube glass vases and our Bubble Tube glass vase, whose yellow color casts beautiful color shadows on the table. In both our amber and blue Standing Flower Bubble, we have put a single elderflower umbel. The elderflower, with its pale yellow flower umbels and aromatic taste, is the epitome of summer. That is why it goes both again in the elderflower juice in the glasses, in the cake and in the table setting itself. This creates a whimsical red thread and is a cute little detail to your table setting that will look finished.
