Picture wall, frame wall, gallery wall - dear child has many names and walls with a mix of pictures, frames and different wall art are here to stay.

When you create a picture wall, you create personality in the home, so don't be afraid to add a little contrast to the classic either via a small splash of color or a different shape than the traditional frame.

We have designed a transparent frame collection, FRAMELESS , which is perfect for giving the picture wall new life. FRAMELESS is available in standard sizes A5, A4, A3, A2 and B2 – as well as two round versions. It is perfect as part of a larger picture wall.

FRAMELESS consists of a front and back in transparent acrylic. The back is colored but toned down, so it forms a beautiful and discreet passepartout that highlights your art.

TIMELESS DESIGN

FRAMELESS comes in two different shapes, a rectangular and a circular. It comes in 8 different colors and can be mixed and matched.

The color of the frame can emphasize and compliment the motif as well as give an elegant and simple expression.

Two golden chicago screws hold the frame together and make it easy to change the motif. The picture frame is easily hung directly on the top screw, either on a small nail or on a fishing line.

The timeless design of the frames means that you can change the content at any time, and in this way create new expressions, styles and combinations at home. You can even use the frame without content, as it is a small piece of art in itself.

PERSONALITY IN THE HOME

A gallery wall in the living room, as a headboard in the bedroom or along your staircase, helps to give your home personality and an insight into who exactly lives there. A frame wall can be built up in countless ways, and there is no set list, it's all about trying things out. You can combine all kinds of art, for example:

  • Photographs
  • Ceramic suspension
  • paper clip
  • Collages
  • Illustrations
  • Posters
  • Lithography
  • Flea find
  • Dried flowers or paper flowers

It is important that a picture wall should create coziness, tranquility and homeliness - what it should contain depends entirely on your own preferences and interior design style. There is always room for a picture wall, whether you live in a bright Nordic universe or you live with colors and contrasts.

You can make a completely simple and strict picture wall with straight lines, or you can soften it a little by using other materials and shapes. Try using the round FRAMELESS frame and see how the expression of the entire wall can change and get a softer look.

GUIDELINES AND CONSIDERATIONS

There are some guidelines that can be good to have when considering the construction of the personal picture wall. Be clear about how much space you want to use, should the area be square, or do you dare to break the lines? Should your wooden frames be of the same quality and colour, and what should break the uniformity? Should it be the art or the design of the frame?

An example would be to use clean, light oak frames, but break the uniformity by using a FRAMELESS acrylic frame or hanging a piece of pottery. Let the eye explore, not only in your choice of motifs, but also in your choice of frames.

Spread your motifs out on the floor and see what goes well together, don't be afraid to combine contrasts or add different elements. A frame wall does not have to be stationary and can be easily changed by moving a single painting or adding a new frame.

CONSTRUCTION

No matter how you live, a picture wall will help create a strong expression.

Remember, the most important thing is that your picture wall makes you happy and creates added value in your interior design. There are different ways to approach the process itself. In the guide below, we have started from a structure from the middle.

GUIDE TO PICTURE WALLS

  • First, you measure the wall and find out how much of the wall your picture wall must cover, set marking tape up.
  • Find the center point and work from this point.
  • Choose motifs for your picture wall. Focus on 1-3 motifs you love and build the rest around them.
  • Make sure to create a connection between your motifs. It can be style, colors, a theme, etc.
  • Put the motifs in frames and lay them out on a table or on the floor.
  • Try your hand and move around the setup a bit. Feel free to combine different sizes of pictures and don't be afraid to use different frame types.
  • It can be a good guideline to work with more or less the same distance between the images, this will create calmness even if the materials, frames, decorations etc. are different in expression.
  • Once you've found the right communication, it's time to hammer. Be aware that many frame suspensions do not sit in the same place, even if the manufacturer is the same.

STILL LEG AND FLOATING FRAMES

With our new frame series, FRAMELESS , opportunities have been created to rethink the classic picture wall. The transparent, airy expression leads to a location where sun and shadow can play with frame and motif. Try creating a vertical picture wall on your sideboard or chest of drawers – create a still life with a single frame, a vase and a candle. Or combine 2-3 different frames and let them stand slightly inside each other.

Do you need something to break up the room? The FRAMELESS frame is easy to hang on a string and let it act as a room divider. In this way, the room will be divided easily and elegantly, as you can still look through the frame due to its transparency, even if it is shielded by the frame. If you are lucky enough to have large window sections, it is obvious to place a FRAMELESS frame there. The front of the frame is UV-protected, so your motif is not damaged by hanging in direct sunlight. The very large acrylic frames can stand in the window itself, while the smaller sizes are easy to hang up. The frames are joined with 2 hollow screws, so you can easily put a piece of fishing line in the frame and create a floating and light expression.
