Paper flowers have really gained traction in interior design and many of us have probably been leaning enviously towards the skilled paper artists who time and again conjure up impressive bouquets of handmade paper flowers. And the beautiful paper flowers are popular for a reason - they have endless uses and the best part is that you can use them again and again.
Here we have collected some ideas for those of you who want to be creative with paper flowers and have inspiration for different ways to use the flowers. The paper flowers from Studio About was designed in collaboration with paper artist Kristina from the blog Labdecor, and in the collection you will find poppies, peonies, dahlias and daisies etc. in beautiful colours.
TABLE COVER WITH PAPER FLOWERS
Paper flowers are obvious to use in small vases on the table, but you can also take advantage of the bendable stem and use them as napkin rings. You just wrap the stem around a napkin - it's super simple, but looks inviting and turns the plate into a little work of art. It is also a delicious way to add a bit of color to the table and the only danger is that the guests will be tempted to take the table decorations home!
Here we have covered up with pink and blue flea finds as a base and decorated the napkins with peony in nude and a red poppy . The Standing Bubble vases in Amber and the blue Flower Tube have been given some dried flowers and an aubergine-coloured peony .
BEAUTIFUL ETERNITY WREATH WITH FLOWERS
Many probably associate the classic flower wreath with Christmas, where it hangs beautifully on the door and welcomes guests. But the flower wreath can also be made in a simpler version that can easily be hung all year round.
DIY WREATH TIPS
You can buy a nice brass ring as a base or you can use branches from a willow tree or an old metal hanger that you just stretch out into a circular shape. Let the paper flower be the eye-catcher on your ring and place some simple greenery or dried flowers around.
- Choose a natural base with some greenery and dried flowers in neutral colors
- Choose 2-3 paper flowers in the same shades or in nice contrasting colors and let them be an eye-catcher in the wreath
- Decorate only half of your wreath to achieve a simple and light expression
Here we have made a brass wreath with eucalyptus and some dried flowers. We have used the paper flowers yellow dahlia, nude peony and purple daisy . The wreath can easily hang by itself, but also gives a creative and personal expression on the picture wall or as part of a small still life.
BOUQUET WITH PAPER FLOWERS
You don't need 12 long-stemmed paper flowers to make a beautiful eternity bouquet. Paper flowers look beautiful in the company of dried flowers, and if you just use a few single flowers, they give a nice visual effect in the bouquet. Here we have used aubergine and nude peony, yellow dahlia and purple daisy in our amber Flower Tube vase.
You can also choose to mix paper flowers and fresh flowers - it makes for a different and exciting bouquet. However, just make sure that the stem of the paper flower is protected from water, possibly using a small tube around the stem.

STILL LEG WITH A SINGLE FLOWER
Paper flowers also work well in their own company, and you can easily use a single stem in a vase. The stem of the flower can be bent, and therefore works for both tall and low vases. The stem is easily unfolded again when you need to use it in other projects. Use a single paper flower as part of the table setting or in a small still life with trinkets and flea finds.
In this small still life, we have used nude peony and red poppy in the company of an amber colored S tanding Bubble and some flea finds.
BRING THE FLOWERS TO LIFE
The paper flowers from Studio About are handmade and gently folded in the small box. When you receive the flower, you must therefore unfold the leaves yourself. You can thus choose whether the flower should be completely open or slightly more closed.
The crepe paper is easy to shape, and if you gently rub your thumb into a leaf, you can give the leaf a small roundness. In this way, you can give your flowers a personal expression at the same time that the appearance becomes more lively and lifelike.
