The OIL BUBBLES collection was designed by architect Mikkel Lang Mikkelsen and is a fusion of our tall Glass candles and our Standing bubble vases. The oil bubbles come in the following colours.
- Rose/green
- Smoke/smoke
- Blue/yellow
- Yellow/blue
- Amber/rose
All of Studio About's glass products are blown in borosilicate glass, which is the same as used in laboratories. The glass can therefore easily withstand the heat from the flame and it will remain beautiful over time.
OIL Bubbles is a good and sustainable alternative to candles. If there is soot after the flame, you simply wash the bubble with soap and water. Combine your oil candles with our Standing bubbles and Flower tubes vases.
LIGHT IN THE GARDEN
Don't limit yourself to only using Oil Bubbles indoors. Take your oil bottle out in the evening in the best corner of the garden, or out for good company and wine on the terrace.
The oil bubbles from Studio About can easily be used as part of your table setting. They are perfect for combining with other decorations and do not take up much space on the table. OIL BUBBLES can be used on the dining table, coffee table, on the windowsill or on the table in the orangery or on the terrace.
WHAT COMES WITH YOUR OIL BUBBLE
Your OIL BUBBLE is packed gently in a solid cardboard tube and is here embraced by tissue paper and divided into the elements:
- glass sphere
- glass stand
- two wicks
- a glass tube to hold the wick
- funnel for filling oil
OIL FILLING
To have the most beautiful flame, it is a good idea to fill the candle with oil 24 hours before use for the first time, so that the wick is saturated with oil.
STEP 1
Unpack the elements and remove the tissue paper from the sphere, then place the sphere in the stand.
STEP 2
Take the lamp oil you bought next door (remember to get one that can burn indoors) and fill the sphere via the funnel that is included.
STEP 3
Put one of the wicks in the small glass tube, and let 3-5 mm of the wick stick out at the top of the glass tube. Now you can lead the wick down into the sphere, where the glass tube holds the top of the wick outside the sphere.
STEP 4
Dip the top of the wick with a little oil - e.g. with the funnel where there is some oil residue.
STEP 5
After following the previous steps, your oil light is ready to be lit. The light can be extinguished with a candle extinguisher or simply blown out like a regular candle. Remember to ventilate when you switch off to maintain a good indoor climate.
NOTE: If this is the first time you light the candles, we recommend that you let 24 hours pass before the first lighting, so that the wick has had time to soak up the oil. After this, we simply recommend that you simply top up continuously so that the wick does not become dry.
BURNING TIME AND LAMP OIL
2 wicks are included for your OIL BUBBLE, do not split the wick into several parts as this will impair the flame.
One refill can burn for up to 25-30 hours depending on the type of lamp oil you use. We even recommend lamp oil from the Alaska brand, which can be bought, among other things, here . The wick itself, of which you get two, can burn for a minimum of 1,000 hours. However, make sure that it does not burn with too little oil, otherwise the wick may be damaged. Feel free to add new oil when the glass has cooled down after use so that the wick remains in oil.
OIL CANDLES - A HEALTHIER ALTERNATIVE TO CANDLES
Candles equal coziness, which is why we launched our Oil Candles as an alternative to the long slim candles and now our Oil Bubbles with an even longer burning time.
"We believe that in the future, oil candles will have a much larger place in interior design, as oil is healthier than, for example, candles, and thus provides a better indoor climate for you when you light up the coziness with candles", says Mikkel.
