GET A GREEN UNIVERSE INSIDE

The combination of colored glass, water and plants is one of the finest. With their simple design, our glass vases can be styled and used in many ways. The colorful glass that characterizes our designs reflects the light and creates beautiful shadows. In this article, we focus on how you can decorate with greenery, without it requiring anything special.

CHANGE PLANTS

A cozy home almost always means a bit of greenery in the interior, and it's hard not to get excited about the many different plants on the market. The eye is drawn to the green beauties, which, in addition to being beautiful to the eye, have the added advantage of providing a better indoor climate.

It is easy to propagate both your own and other people's plants, and this means that you can expand your plant collection without a huge budget. If you are visiting friends or family, you can typically be allowed to take a cutting from a larger mother plant and in that way easily get new offshoots. The best thing is to give a cutting to someone you love, such as a hostess gift.

CUTTINGS OF PALLET LEAF

This autumn we will be propagating our varieties of palette leaf, the beautiful grandmother plant with the deep purple leaves.

Paletblad is a well-known houseplant that can be left outside during the summer period. Paletblad grows quickly, is extremely easy to propagate and comes in countless variations.

DIY- MAKE CUTTINGS AT HOME

Try using the cuttings in your decor, it gives a light expression, and it's fun for everyone in the family to follow the development of the roots.

By following these simple steps, you can easily propagate your favorite plants.

  • Cut off a neat side shoot or top shoot
  • Take some leaves off the stem so that it only has a few at the top
  • Then place the cutting in soil or water. You will have the most success with propagation in the spring, but you can easily do it now that the plants have moved in from the garden.
  • When the root network has grown, you can give the plant its permanent place in a pot with good potting soil. If there are too many long roots, you can easily cut some of them off before replanting.

If you want your plant to branch out further, you can pinch off the top pair of leaves. This will cause the plant to become denser. You can do this a few times.

PLANTS IN WATER

If you don't want to have large potted plants standing in pots, there are many plants that can easily live in water.

It can sometimes be difficult to keep the potted plants alive. Often it is problems with under- or over-watering that kill the plant. But you can easily have greens inside anyway, you just have to skip the soil and have your plants in water.

Not all plants are suitable for standing in water for a long time, but you have to try your hand. Here are our suggestions, but there are many more.

  • Palette blade
  • Wandering Jew
  • Monstera
  • Geranium
  • Paradise tree
  • Pilea
  • Racer
  • Ivy

The only thing you have to remember is to change the water occasionally or top it up, as it will stand and evaporate. It is also an advantage to give the water a bit of fertilizer once in a while, so the plant has something to live on.

We have cuttings that have been in water for over a year and still shoot new leaves, without doing anything other than giving them a little clean water every now and then.

BUBBLE TUBE VASE

The new large Bubble tube vase is ideal for the slightly larger cuttings with a larger root network. Bubble tube is the newest family member in Studio About's vase collection. The bubble tube is a beautiful fusion between the Standing bubbles and Flower tubes vases. It is designed to hold large bouquets, but the vase can be styled in many ways. Here it is styled with one of the slightly larger cuttings from Paletblad.
